Play Space Design
The specialised discipline of playground design requires a sympathetic approach, awareness of current best practice and most importantly an intuitive understanding of how to challenge, educate and entertain.
At Urban Wilderness we believe in the value of non-prescriptive play, naturalistic play and 'urban wilderness' in its truest sense, whilst ensuring that play spaces are robust and cost effective. This is ever more important due to the relative paucity of funding for play spaces.
With imaginative design, playground equipment can be used in combination with other forms of activity-based play, using elements such as water, sand, stone, fallen trees, etc, to create an arena rich in experience.
We offer a full playground design package to our clients, with a set of standard services from feasibility, concept and detail design through to tendering and site supervision.
Recent playgrounds include the two-phase development of Mill Lane Park, Preston, Longsands synthetic turf Multi Use Games Area, Preston and a significant new play space in Goosnargh, Lancashire.
